Giving Tuesday and FHYAA
by posted 11/26/2022

Give at FHYAA.ORG

From all of us at Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association, we hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. If you didn't get a chance to see it, please visit our Facebook or Instagram pages for a very special thankful message video.

This is in reference to Giving Tuesday, but you can contribute a donation throughout the year.

As you know, our program here at FHYAA consists of more than our amazing sports programs in FootballCheerleadingSoftball, VolleyballBasketballLacrosseRugby, and Baseball. We also provide scholarships for athletes who make our teams collectively great. We partner with Positive Coaching Alliance to help facilitate the best environment, and child-centered atmosphere in sports competitions for our athletes, parents, and coaches. We are involved in many community opportunities including events in partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation.

Among many things, we depend on donations and fundraising to improve all of our sports programs. This Giving Tuesday, we ask that you or any family or friends who support our organization consider making a contribution to FHYAA.org

Please head over to our page today and hit the Donate Now button. We cannot express our gratitude enough for how much a donation in any increment helps us help our community.

Thank you so much for all of your continued efforts and contributions.

Sincerely,

All of the team at FHYAA

FH Youth Lacrosse Winter League at the St James
by posted 10/30/2022

www.forthuntlax.org

This fall/winter Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse will host (subsidize) teams to play within the St. James' 7v7 Indoor Winter League.  FHYL will sponsor as many boys and girls teams as we can gather in each age group (girls 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8) (boys 10U, 12U, and 14U). Games will occur once per week on either Saturday or Sunday at the St. James' indoor facility in Springfield. Games will start on December 17 and run through February 12, 2023.

We have negotiated reduced rates with the St James, $175 per player, rather than the $200 per player they charge on their website

We will form teams of 10-12 kids to maximize playing time. If interest is high, we will form multiple teams per age group. If registration is low for a certain age group we will combine our FH kids with kids from another recreational team.

FH volunteers (parents or high schoolers) will lead the teams we assemble. Between now and the start of games coaches will have the opportunity to use Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse field space to conduct optional team practices on either Friday evenings or Sundays at the West Potomac High School practice turf.

Interested families should register through the FH website (www.forthuntlax.org).

Individuals interested in coaching a Fort Hunt winter team should register as a 2022-2023 coach through our website and contact Zach Gaumer or Shannon Crisp.

Winter league regular season game weekend schedule:

  • Dec 17-18
  • Jan 7-8
  • Jan 14-15
  • Jan 21-22
  • Jan 28-29
  • Feb 4-5
  • Feb 11-12

Games will be scheduled between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:30 pm

Come play this winter with Fort Hunt!
